There are still a couple of places left for the charity rematch with the Valley Commandos.

Last time we raised £580 for the Fred Keenor statue appeal.  Let’s see if we can top that this time.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday, November  11, at Tyn y Wern, University of Glamorgan , Treforest Industrial Estate.  ** Please note change of venue. **

There will be a buffet and a band later at the Rose and Crown, Graig, Pontypridd. Subs are .£5 per player.

A NIGHT OF FOOD AND FUN WITH FRANK HENNESSY

The Fred Keenor Statue Appeal is holding a curry night with special guest Frank Hennessy at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday, November 17, (7.30pm for 8pm).

The Cardiff legend has generously waived his usual fee and will be appearing on the night in support of the appeal to another City legend, Fred Keenor.

Dilwar Ali, a great supporter of the Keenor appeal, will be serving his excellent food, following on the success of a curry night at the stadium last year. Dilwar runs the Nahin Spice Centre in Caerphilly Road. A raffle will also be held on the night.

Tickets for the event, with all profits to the appeal, cost £15pp. They can be bought at the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust office (near Gate 5 between the Canton and Ninian Stands) on match days and for a short while after games.

For those unable to go to the Trust office please send a cheque payable to the Fred Keenor Statue Appeal to Clive Prigg at 11, Geraints Close, Cowbridge, CF71 7BT.

Please support this fundraising event if you’re able to – it should be a great night and a good fundraiser.

MIKEY DYE

The Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust fully supports the fans’ match between Swansea City and Cardiff City supporters at the Bryntirion Stadium ,Bridgend at 2 pm on Sunday October 9th. Hopefully, a lot of money can be made in support of the family of Cardiff City and Wales fan Mikey Dye.

It will be a family day out and we hope as many Trust members as possible can make the effort to attend this match. An auction will take place following the game and all proceeds raised on the day will be donated to the family.

TRUST STATEMENT ON DEPARTURE OF CITY CHIEF EXECUTIVE

The following statement was made following news that Gethin Jenkins is to leave his role as chief executive of Cardiff City:

Tracey Marsh, Vice Chair of Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust, said: “The news of Gethin Jenkins’ impending departure has come as a surprise to fans.

“As a Trust we have built an excellent working relationship with Gethin during his time at Cardiff City. We also thank him for his support of the Fred Keenor Statue Appeal and wish him well for the future in whatever he does next.

“We hope that Gethin’s eventual successor will continue the very good links with the Trust and its members and we are sure that will happen under the chairmanship of Dato Chan Tien Ghee (TG).”
