The Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust and Show Racism the Red Card’s community five-a-side competition was won by Elite 7, a team from Grangetown and Butetown. In a tight match they beat Clwb Cymric 1 – 0.
Twenty teams from across Cardiff played in the tournament which was also sponsored by Co-Operative Cymru/Wales. Through sponsorship and donations £900 was raised for Ty Hafan.
The teams involved included those from the Bengali, Somali, Yemeni, Jewish and Indian communities, the Blue Dragons (Cardiff LGBT team) and Ty Hafan Fathers Group.
Trust Chair, Tim Hartley, said, “It was great to be able to bring together men and women from very different backgrounds to make friends and raise money for a very good cause. Thanks to everyone who took part in what was a great day of football.”
