Special General Meeting, October 24th

Dear Member

SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING, OCTOBER 24th

We wanted to inform members that  on Tuesday a group of 29 new members informed the Trust Board that they wished to withdraw a resolution which, if passed, would have led to an early election of the whole board.

Despite the withdrawal of the motion, the board intends to go ahead with a  meeting at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday (7pm start), as previously arranged, and we invite members to attend and raise any issues with the board.

Just to make it crystal clear, the board welcomes new members who want to make a positive contribution to the board and the Trust as a whole.

Members can pop into the Trust office (near Gate 5) before any league game to raise any issues, ideas etc or can use the contact details on the website.

The normal arrangements for the board elections in 2026 will continue.

Latest Trust Magazine Hits Doormats

We’re pleased to say that the latest Trust magazine, Moving To A Different Beat, is being delivered to members’ homes.

Some cracking articles include a great piece from former BBC Wales commentator Rob Phillips, one on past transfer windows by David Collins, a City managers piece from Paul Evans while Rob Jeffery looks back at the longest season and Trust member Mark Johns is also featured.

There’s also the magazine regular quiz with £50 up for grabs for the lucky winning entry by a member.

Special General Meeting: REMINDER

Dear Member

Please find below important information and reminders about Friday’s Special General Meeting

At the meeting attendance will be restricted to members. Only non-members who hold a proxy will be allowed entry to the meeting to tender their proxy vote.

Voting on the resolution at the meeting will be by a show of hands by those present and by proxies granted by members who cannot attend.

A register will be taken on the night to ensure those who have granted proxies are not attending.

No member under 16 years of age can vote.

Under society rules no member other than the chair can act as a proxy for more than three members. If an attendee is holding more than three proxies only three will be valid.

A reminder of the details of the resolution by a group of new members:

“That an election of the Cardiff City Supporters Trust Board be held within 30 days of this Special General Meeting. As part of this election, all current members of the Board shall stand down and may seek re-election should they wish to do so, following the Trust’s Election Policies and Procedures. Any Trust member who meets the eligibility requirements may also seek election in accordance with the same rules and procedures.”

The meeting will be a single issue meeting and no other business will be discussed other than the resolution.

The Trust board has made its view crystal clear in previous emails that it opposes the resolution for reasons previously communicated to members. We believe elections in the run up to the AGM in May remains the best time for elections to the board.

Proxy emails must be returned by close of play on October 22nd.

You can view full details of the proxy voting process on https://www.ccfctrust.org/proxy-vote-ccst-special-general-meeting-october-24-2025/

Trust Foodbank Collection

The Trust board wanted to keep members informed of the next foodbank collection which takes place before the Doncaster Rovers game on Saturday, December 13th.

We are meeting the Rhondda Foodbank early next month and will be letting members know about the food items and other products most needed, if you’re able to help on the day. We’ve worked very closely with the brilliant staff at Cardiff City FC to make these collections a success.

New members have asked us for more details of the Trust board’s work involving foodbanks.

There have been six foodbanks so far:

· More than 6,000 items have been donated by Trust members, the wider fan base and staff and players at Cardiff City

· Around £3,000 in cash donated

A reminder that after the last foodbank collection, Liz Pearce, chair of the trustees at the Pontypridd Foodbank, paid this tribute to those that donated: “Thank you so much to all your members for your support on Saturday. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the supporters’ trust, Cardiff City Football Club and fans.

“This is an amazing donation for us to receive and we ask that you pass on our thanks to everyone who contributed.”

The Pontypridd Foodbank weighed the food donations which came to a whopping 423.52kg and £1,150 was donated, including a £100 contribution from the Trust.

Trust Throws Its Support Behind New Cardiff City Museum Plan

Trust chair Keith Morgan and board member Jonathan Hicks have met with club and foundation officials over plans for a Bluebirds museum at the Cardiff City Stadium.
A working party will be set up in January with representatives from the club and supporter groups, including the Trust.

The meeting was told that the current collection has been sorted into three areas for storage:

Shirts, pictures, archived programmes, ephemera.
Collections, archives, research
Memorabilia, trophies, auction items, scrapbooks, the Fred Keenor collection, fan art.

The meeting was told that the best model for the Cardiff City museum would be one based on a similar facility at Slavia Prague.

A proposed fit out has been drawn up by Avante Architects but nothing will be finalised before consultation. The opening hours of a proposed museum have not been decided but it is unlikely the museum will be open on match days.

Between now and the end of the year the cataloguing of items and the setting up of an online database will have been collected.
Others attending the meeting were Terry Phillips (Club Historian), Lucy Mebarki (Heritage Collection Manager), Wayne Nash (Head of Operations), Zac Lyndon-Jones (Cardiff City Foundation Interim Manager).

Trust Chair Keith Morgan said: “The Trust has been at the forefront of efforts to develop a museum and we’re very pleased to be involved in the working party that will take this wonderful initiative forward.”

Board member Jonathan Hicks added: “A Bluebirds museum would be a real hit among fans and this is an exciting project in which the Trust intends to play a full part. The museum will be a great asset for the club and the city as a whole.”

In a message to the Trust, Lucy Mebarki said: “Our aim is to collect, preserve and celebrate the club’s history through memorabilia, oral histories, and community engagement. The Supporters’ Trust has done exceptional work over the years in protecting the club’s heritage, championing fans’ voices, and documenting key milestones in our shared history.”
