Gareth Williams – New board member

Name:    Gareth Williams

Live in:   Cardiff

What do you do for a living?:   I am a retired Charity CEO and Ex FAW Referee.

Why did you join the Trust?:  I wanted to get involved with making Cardiff City to be at the core of the community and see them rise to be a top performing club in the country.

Why would you encourage fans to join the Trust?:  To build a stronger organisation that represents more fans and has the goodwill to help the club to be successful.

Why did you seek election to the Board?:  I wanted to get involved and try to make a positive impression on all things Cardiff City.

How long have you supported City?:  I have followed Cardiff as man and boy for over 50 years, earlier in my footballing journey my refereeing restricted my attendance at matches but I have been a regular season ticket holder for over 15 years.

What is your Favourite City Match?: I have to say Real Madrid, however, the FA Cup final and the League Cup final were great occasions to be present.

Who are your Favourite City Players?: In common with others, the wand that was Whits’ left foot. I also thought Ian Gibson was a class above anything else.

Who are you? Gethin Evans 

Where do you live? Cowbridge

What do you do for a living? Senior Vice President for a sports publisher

Why did you join the Trust? I saw how much our local clubs meant to us when sport stopped during Covid-19 and I think the Trust has done some good work over the years which I was happy contribute towards.

Why would you encourage fans to join the Trust? I think an independent organisation that can work to bring the club, supporters and the community together is important – and the membership cost is accessible for most supporters.

Why did you seek election to the Trust Board? I think we must think about the sustainability of Cardiff City for the community for the long term. And I think the trust has a big role to play in that.

What is your aim for the Trust over the next 12 months? Build out the wider proposition for our members.

How long have you supported City? My first game was Cardiff Barnet the year we won Division 3

What was your favourite City match? Cardiff Leeds in the FA Cup.

Who is your favourite City player/s? Graham Kavanagh, Danny Gabbidon & Jason Koumas.
