We proud to announce that a cheque for £7,330 from the sale of the first batch of Trust alternative blueshirts was presented to Tŷ Hafan today.

Pictured left is Jen O’Brien,whose two-and-half-year old son, Oscar  sadly passed away at the children’s hospice in June. Even at such a young age, Oscar was a massive Bluebirds fan who had his own blue shirt.

Jen accepted the cheque from City fan Daniel Evans, aged 9. They are pictured with Lynne Carter, Fundraising of General Manager of Ty Hafan, whose website is www.tyhafan.org

Jeremy Jackson, a director of Tŷ Hafan said: “We are extremely grateful to Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust, Kukri Sports and Wales Online (The Echo) for their generous support of Tŷ Hafan.

“Tŷ Hafan currently cares for 260 life limited children. The cost of the hospice and community care we provide is about £10,000 a day. For each shirt sold, Tŷ Hafan receives £5 and so the first 1,500 shirts sold has really helped us to provide care for  almost one full day, the importance of which to our children and their families is inestimable.”

Tim Hartley, chair of the Cardiff City Supporters Trust, said, “It’s great that the Trust can support Tŷ Hafan and the very valuable work it does. We have raised almost ten thousand pounds already for life limited children through the sale of our blue City shirts. We are proud of our club’s heritage and of our continued support for Ty Hafan.”

The group picture includes Mervyn Ham, chair of Tŷ Hafan, Lynne Carter, Tŷ Hafan, Phil Morris of Kukri, Trust chair Tim Hartley, board member Brian Mertens and Sian Branson of Bluebirds Unite who is a Trust member.

Kukri has told us that it has 500 shirts in stock so deliveries will be quicker than previously so please support Ty Hafan’s marvellous work while also backing the campaign to return the club to blue.

Thanks to everyone that has already bought a shirt.

The official club home shirt won’t be available in the shops for another month, so why not order the shirt that properly respects the club’s history and tradition.

Blue is what Cardiff City is about – not some other colour that has been imposed on the club and its fans by owner who ignores the wishes of supporters.

We’ve sold around 2,000 shirts now but we want to sell more – it would also make a great Christmas gift for those living away from the city.

If you haven’t yet ordered a shirt then you can feel the quality at the Trust office (near Gate 5) tomorrow.

We will have 4 of the alternative shirts available for people to view and try on if needed. They are an XL, medium, small (ladies) and a 7-8 year-old’s. Trust members will also be wearing other sizes.

In a statement this week, suppliers Kukri Sports said: “We intend to put a stock of shirts in place next week that will allow fans to receive their order within 24 hours (if it is in stock).” Deliveries have been taking up to four weeks.

The Trust office is open from two hours before kick-off – on Saturday it will be from 1pm to 2.45pm.

The following email was sent to Trust chair Tim Hartley and Vince Alm of Cardiff City Supporters Club.

The statement reads:

Dear Tim and Vince

On behalf of the Sky Blue Trust, I am writing to express huge thanks for the contribution of Cardiff’s fans to the protest at Sixfields last night.

The tremendous solidarity of football supporters is extremely encouraging for all of us who feel that the way football is being run must be changed.

Our two great clubs are prime examples of the need for that. Working together, in the way we have, must, in the long run, help to bring about radical change. I hope we can continue to collaborate as our protest movements continue.

I thought Cardiff were clearly the better side last night although I drew some comfort from the second half.  Needless to say, I was not inside Sixfields!

As fans will know, there have been some problems with delivery of the fantastic Trust blue shirts from Kukri Sports.

Kukri has issued a statement on its website which can be viewed on the link https://www.kukrisports.co.uk/ccst-statement/

The Trust would urge anyone interested in wearing a blue alternative to the club red first team shirt to order as soon as possible and support the campaign for a return to blue.

It is a quality product and remember £5 from every sale goes to the wonderful work at the Ty Hafan children’s hospice.

Cardiff City fans will be supporting a peaceful protest when the Bluebirds play Coventry City on Wednesday evening in the Capital One Cup.

In the protest about the club being forced to play its home games at Northampton, the Sky Blue Trust  wants all supporters to hold up A4 cards with ‘Let Down’ written on them 35 minutes into the game (35 miles is the distance between Coventry and Northampton). They believe they have been ‘let down’ by the football authorities, hence the wording.

David Johnson of the Sky Blues Trust has been in touch with Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust and Vince Alm of Cardiff City Supporters Club, which is taking  coaches to Northampton, for the Sky Sports televised match.

The cards will be handed out to those on coaches and and also distributed at turnstiles by the Sky Blues Trustto  those travelling by car.

In a statement on their website, the Sky Blues Trust said: “The match between the two CCFC’s on Wednesday is an opportunity to let the world know that fans are united in their disgust at the way they have been let down. The Sky Blue Trust, along with their Welsh counterparts, are organising a protest to make all those responsible aware just how the fans feel about being betrayed and let down.

“We call on all fans to unite – all the Coventry fans, those on the hill, those who go into Sixfields unite and all the Cardiff fans attending unite and all hold up the leaflets in the 35^th minute bearing the simple statement “LET DOWN”.

“Coventry fans want their team back in Coventry, the 8,000 who marched last month and the tremendous support there has been for the Coventry Telegraph’s #bringCityhome campaign are testament to the strength of feeling.  The march by thousands of Cardiff fans in March shows their anger at their situation. Football fans united by one thing – they are all Fans Let Down.”
