Chasetown send their best wishes to Bluebirds fans

Hi Tim,

Can I take this opportunity, on behalf of Chasetown Supporters Club, to wish all of our friends at Cardiff City a very happy new year.

I see you have started off where you left last year. Our very best wishes for the rest of the season and thanks again for coming up and making the day so memorable.

Cheers

John Franklin

Your chance to quiz Wales manager Chris Coleman

Do you build a whole team around a player like Gareth Bale? Is the Cardiff-Swansea rivalry good for Welsh football? And do you really think Wales will ever qualify for a major finals?
The Supporters’ Trust has arranged a question and answer session with the Wales team manager, Chris Coleman, at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, January 15th, at 7.30pm.
The event is open to Trust members but you can bring also bring a friend.
Trust members should email help@ccfctrust.org to register.
The event may need to be re-arranged if there is an FA Cup replay.

New Year message from Trust chair Tim Hartley

What a great season we have had on the football field.  We have a much strengthened squad, the football has been excellent and with the results so far we must hope we can make it to the Premiership with automatic promotion. Come on the City!

The Trust has reached two massive milestones this season. Following a monumental effort by you the fans, the Fred Keenor statue has at last been unveiled. What an achievement. Well done to all those who worked so hard to realise the dream. The Memorial Garden has also been laid out, Fred Keenor’s original headstone has been re-dedicated at the rose garden and we now have a place for us to remember loved ones who have sadly passed away.

We have contributed to the national debate on football governance offering evidence to the parliamentary inquiry and we have promoted supporter involvement in football through our links with Supporters Direct, the other Championship club trusts and the Football Supporters’ Federation. The Trust has also engaged with a range of individuals and groups in and around Cardiff this year to help bring the club and the community it serves closer together.

Looking forward we will again be asking fans what they want from the club and, of course, what you want from the Trust itself. Look out for our survey in the New Year. Remember, it is your Trust, so please get involved and let us know what you want.

On February 13 we are holding another members’ evening at the Cardiff City Stadium with players from the promotion winning team of the 1982-83 season so make a  firmdate in your diary now. It will be a great night and we’d be delighted to see you there.

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi gyd: Happy New Year to all Trust members

Safe Standing Quiz + Review of the Year

A message from Jon Darch of the Safe Standing Roadshow campaign

As 2012 draws to a close, we thought it was high time to review the latter half of the year (our last newsletter was way back in the summer) and to offer you a bit of fun with the:

Safe Standing Roadshow 2012 Quiz
(Click this link to play)

At the start of December 2011, not one club in England, Scotland or Wales had publicly declared its interest in safe standing. What a difference a year makes! The picture as we approach the end of December 2012 is very different indeed.

The entire Scottish Premier League is now free to trial rail seats, while in Engand, following Aston Villa’s lead in January, the list of clubs to follow in support of safe standing trials grows by the week.

Included in the roll of safe standing honour are now: Derby County, Peterborough, Sunderland, AFC Wimbledon, Hull City, Crystal Palace, Bristol City, Burnley, Watford, Doncaster Rovers, Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, Aldershot, Exeter City, Wolves and Swansea City. In other news during the latter months of the year we reported on:

Read about all of that and you’ll have no trouble getting ‘top marks’ in our 2012 Quiz!

Just click here to start the quiz (you need to create a simple ‘sign-in’ account and then away you go!) and see how many points you can score out of 50. You will be shown your score and how you did on each question at the end of the quiz and we’ll publish a ‘league table’ (showing only ‘user names’) over the next few days.

Have a go at the quiz now!

Have fun doing it and have a very Happy New Year in 2013!

Cheers,

Jon Darch

Super Ted Mike Young’s City coaching videos

Mike Young of Super Ted fame may be exiled in the United States but he remains a true Bluebird.

Mike sent this e-mail to the Trust and there’s a link to a video with Malky Mackay with two of the City’s stars.

Dear CCFC Trust

I write as the self elected No1 US based Cardiff City fan. I run a major animation studio in LA and have long sponsored and cared for Cardiff City. Having got sick of seeing the Swans on US TV almost every week for the last two years I decided to do something about it and with the cooperation of the City produced thirteen “Play Like A Pro” videos that now run on our TV Network Kabillion in the US.

In just six weeks the videos have been watched by over a half a million kids on TV and this is just the beginning. Some of these videos can be seen on YouTube – Kabillion – Play Like A Pro and the latest one posted yesterday shows Malky running a short coaching session. Take a look and please pass the links onto especially kids which is the intended audience.

All the best,

Mike Young
