Trust members: Meet the heroes of Cardiff’s European Adventures

Journalist and author Mario Risoli is launching his fantastic book From Tashkent With Love: Cardiff City and the Cup Winners’ Cup 1964-93 at Cardiff City Stadium on Monday, October 27 (7.15pm).

The event will reunite the famous 1967-68 squad that reached the semi-final against Hamburg.

Mario has kindly offered the Trust 30 free tickets to the launch of his book which is due to be attended by Don Murray, Gary Bell, Bobby Ferguson, Norman Dean, Steve Derrett, Graham Coldrick, Leighton Phillips, Barrie Jones, Dave Carver and Bobby Brown.

Dilwyn John, the goalkeeper who played in the very first ECWC match, against Esbjerg, has also said he will be present and other players from later years have been invited to attend, including Phil Dwyer and Damon Searle.

Cardiff City and FAW staff are also due to attend the invite-only event.The publication coincides with the 50th anniversary of City’s first Cup Winners’ Cup campaign.

The book will be discounted on the night from £16.99 to £15 plus there is a great opportunity for Trust members to get the 1968 heroes to sign it. It would make a great Christmas present for a Bluebirds fan.

We have only 30 tickets available to Trust members and anyone who would like to come must email members@ccfctrust.org. Tickets will be allocated to members only on a strictly first come, first served basis.

Tickets will need to be collected​ from the Trust Office ​before the Nottingham Forest or Ipswich Town game on October ​18​ and 21.​
