An early season message to Trust members from chair Tim Hartley
Its been a mixed start to the season but if Ole can find the right combination of players then who knows maybe that bounce back to the Premiership could still be on. Off the field, the Trust too had a good pre-season and we have been busy working on a number of projects.
The alternative blue shirts look great and Kukri have now sold more than 2,500. Not only do the shirts help us make the stadium a sea of blue but we have raised more than £12,500 for Ty Hafan already. Thanks go to Trust member Phil Jones for all his hard work on this.
We have supported Coventry City in their bid to return to their true home and it was good to hear that their 35 mile trek to Northampton for home games will soon be over. While the FA continues its investigation into the Malky Mackay and Iain Moody texts, it’s worth noting again that the Supporters’ Trust condemns all forms of homophobia and racism and we are organising a community 5-a-side in October to bring communities across Cardiff and South Wales together. More details to follow.
The oral history project we are running with the Cardiff Story at the Central Library is now going full steam ahead. We are recording people’s personal histories of the club, what it was like in the old days, our Wembley years and what going down the City means to you. If you are interested in being interviewed or in doing an interview with friends or family then contact us.
We have been promised a meeting with the club’s new General Manager, Ken Choo, and are waiting for a date. There are still lots of question we need answering and I’m sure that when Mr Tan will convert his debt into equity and when we can return to playing in blue will, of course, feature in our discussions. If you have any questions you want answered then send them to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will put them to the club.
We are working with local businesses to offer Trust members discounts. If your company or anyone you know would like to offer us all a discount then do get in touch.
It will be a quiet couple of weeks now over the international break. All the best to all the City players involved in the European qualifiers.
Remember to pop in to the Trust office at the stadium. We’re open two hours before kick off. It’s near gate 5.
See you at the Norwich game!
And why not encourage friends and relatives to join the Trust for just £12 a year. Fans can join at the Trust office on match days and on the website
