FUN TIME AT GRANGETOWN CARNIVAL

The Lord Mayor of Cardiff has wished Malky Mackay and Cardiff City all the very best for the coming season.

Councillor Delme Bowen was speaking as he handed out the Supporters’ Trust raffle prizes at this year’s Grangetown Carnival. Jayden Howells who is 9 and Hunza Rihmani who is 10, both from Grangetown, won the Cardiff City shirt and pennant. They both chose Craig Bellamy as their favourite player.

Children at the Trust stand looking through the programmes

The Trust stand was busy all afternoon with the people wanting to have their picture taken with the Golden Boot which is awarded to the fans player of the year. There were programmes and stickers for the children as well as the free raffle. The Lord Mayor said he appreciated the work the Trust is doing to get the local community involved in football and welcomed our new manager Malky Mackay to the city.

Trust Chair Tim Hartley said: “The Grangetown Festival is a great day out for the whole community and the Supporters Trust enjoys the opportunity to spread the word about the City, here right on the doorstep of the stadium. With the appointment of our new manager we are again full of hope for the new season.  Let’s get behind Malky and the team once again.  The only way is up!”
